The Overview
For this project, my group and I created the brand SoulFood. We wanted to share the delectable cuisine of Southern soul food and pair it with music created by Black artists. The brand would be focused on making good memories with others with comfort foods and great music.
The Problem
Many people struggle with finding a song that speaks to them. There’s also a lack of platforms that curates Black artists towards fans. Couples going on dates sometimes have trouble setting a mood as well, and want quick and easy date plans. People also want to learn how to cook and struggle with elaborate recipes and lack of ingredients.
The Solution
My team designed SoulFood to help couples, music lovers, and foodies, find the mood that suits them. When ordering SoulFood, the consumer is given a dining experience, set with pleasing aesthetics, music curated to them via QR code on Spotify, and the ability to cook their own food. This gives a couple an easy date plan while they learn how to cook on their own. Ingredients and spices are all supplied and the dishes are easy to make for just about everyone.

This logo design was a team effort. Tyreesha Bolton created the iconic S curve inspired by a typeface she liked. Dane Tewari reiterated the logo over and over while consulting with both me and Tyreesha on the final design. I helped the most with the final color palette and design.

Outcome + Reflection + Next Steps
This was a really big project and was the first time I had to stretch my abilities in various directions. Working as a team was really fun and the perspectives from each of my teammates helped me to expand my knowledge as well. If I were to redo this project, I would definitely focus on details and polishing my work even further. There were so many things we wanted to do from an advertising standpoint that we never quite reached. I grew a lot from Soulfood and the skills and insight I've gained will stay with me forever.
